CEO-FOUNDER/MASTER IPC TRAINER

Steven Weeks

Steven has been passionate about electronics since the 1970’s and has spent years gaining hands-on knowledge of the industry. He worked in semiconductor manufacturing for thirteen years, then turned his passion into teaching as a professor of electronics manufacturing at Sierra College. During this time he saw the need the for stringent standards in manufacturing and soldering that IPC could bring and formed Soldering.Biz to bring those standards to more employees and businesses.

Over the years he has gained a Bachelors Vocational Education, received credentials as a Vocational Teacher, and is a Master IPC trainer in the following: MIT IPC-A-610, MIT IPC/WHMA-A-620, MIT J-STD-001, MIT 7711/7721.

Steven built Soldering.Biz based on simple principles: professionalism, patience, and care. He and his instructors truly care about the businesses and pupils they work with. That’s why they provide professional courses that impart thorough, in-depth knowledge to every class participant. Being patient with their students, and appreciating the rich and varied backgrounds of each client is part of what makes our team unique.

The Soldering.biz team has worked with companies of all sizes, all over the world. Steven and his team hold themselves to high standards – and pass on their expectation of quality work to their students.

Steven enjoys gardening and traveling with his wife. Spending time with their grandchildren is a high priority. Steve is a proud veteran who served in the Coast guard.

Missy Hannon

Missy gained her Bachelor of Arts from Portland State University, Communications and is certified in IPC 610 CIT, IPC 620 CIT, J-STD CIT. She is constantly learning new things and loves working with the great team at Soldering.biz and helping corporate clients coordinate scheduling in a way that makes their daily work requirements easier.

When she isn’t working, she spends time with her husband of 26 years and their three children. They explore Northwest as a family and are often found trying new food cart pods and cheering for the Portland Trail Blazers basketball team.

Mark Fruechtel

Mark has spent over 35 years working in the manufacturing industry through process, procurement, and design margin engineering. He enjoys learning new information about the manufacturing industry and sharing those standards with the diverse group of students with whom he works on a daily basis.

When he isn’t teaching, he is probably at a concert (he’s been to over 1,000 live performances) or outdoors with his two dogs.

Bill Westbay

Bill came to Soldering.Biz after teaching for ten years and spending five years in the manufacturing industry. His real passion is teaching, which is why he decided to get a Bachelor of Science Education back in 2001. He loves training people and helping them understand the processes behind the information taught.

When Bill is not working with students, he is spending time with his wife, their children, and their grandchildren. He also loves spending time outdoors: playing golf, snow skiing, kayaking, and hiking. Additionally, he has a passion for music; singing and songwriting, as well as building, restoring, and repairing amplifiers.
